14 Bones fires up BBQ for Mental Health Association

Stuart News - 9/4/2017

VERO BEACHThe Mental Health Association in Indian River County and Wilke's 14 Bones BBQ fired up the grill to raise money and awareness for a great cause.

On a busy Monday night, 14 Bones was buzzing with diners. The family-owned BBQ joint generously donated 10 percent of the evening's proceeds to the MHA.

Local families, MHA employees and board members filled the mesquite-scented eatery. Barbecue ribs, chicken and fried shrimp were in hot demand as the wait staff passed around some specially made corn fritters.

Philanthropy is not a new concept to 14 Bones. As the official restaurant of the Vero Beach Fighting Indians football team the staff provides full meals to the entire team before every home and away football game.

The Mental Health Association in Indian River County Walk-In Center, 820 37th Place, in Vero Beach, offers free mental health screening, crisis intervention services, and information and/or referral about mental health issues. For more information, call 772-569-9788.
