Veteran CAP pilot addresses Dover Capital City Rotary

Delaware State News - 5/8/2017

Civil Air Patrol Capt. Dean Srygley of Dover addressed Dover Capital City Rotary Club at its April 13 luncheon meeting at Maple Dale Country Club. Capt. Srygley has been a licensed pilot since 1978 and joined CAP as a Mission pilot in 2010. His presentation included a history and the ongoing services provided by CAP across the nation, including its role as the official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. CAP is a volunteer organization that performs three congressionally assigned key missions: emergency services, including search and rescue and disaster relief operations; aerospace education for youth and the public; and cadet programs for teenage youth. He noted that this national organization began in Delaware in December 1941 by reporting on German U-boats sighted off Rehoboth Beach.
