Memorial Day is time to honor our veterans, past and present

Hudson Reporter Publications - 5/18/2017

To the Editor:

As Memorial Day 2017 is approaching it is time for all of us to take a step back from our daily activities and pay homage to all of those men and women who, since the inception of our great country have served and continue to serve to protect our most precious freedoms and liberties.

I admire and respect all of our veterans and pray for those who have given the supreme sacrifice for our country. We can and should never take for granted the dedicated service of our armed forces, who with valor and pride have served the USA. What is so wonderful about those in the service is that there are all races, creeds, and ethnic origins standing together side by side and shoulder to shoulder with one common purpose and goal, namely the principles of freedom and democracy that all of us treasure.

And so, on this upcoming Memorial Day as we enjoy family time with barbeques or shop for sales in the malls, please ensure that we all take time out and reflect upon the veterans of the past and those who currently serve us daily.

God Bless the veterans past and present and God Bless America.
