Nov. 4--Even though this has been a hard year for restaurants and retailers, many businesses are still paying it forward for Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Here is a list of businesses offering discounts and deals for veterans. This is by no means an exhaustive list and it is not meant to be. I recommend calling ahead to ask if a particular business location is offering a special.
This list will be continuously updated online and you can also keep tabs on free offers on other websites such as themilitarywallet.com.
Most of the discounts and deals do require proof of service, and sometimes promotions extend to spouses, other family members and first-responders, as well.
In light of COVID-19, some restaurants and retailers have extended the discounts to carryout services or have offered vouchers to be used at a later date. Details for each situation is listed accordingly.

Bar Louie (7320 Aspect Drive, Granger) -- Free flatbread or burger for dine-in only.

Bonefish Grill (620 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka) -- 10% off meal.

Buckle (Inside University Park Mall at 6501 N. Grape Road, Mishawaka) -- 10% off in store or online purchases at Buckle.com.

Buffalo Wild Wings (multiple locations) -- Free 10 boneless wings with a side of fries. Available for dine-in and carryout.

Burger King (multiple locations) -- Free regular coffee with purchase.

Carrabba's Italian Grill (210 W. Day Road, Mishawaka) -- 10% off meal.

Cafe Navarre Bar and Restaurant (101 N. Michigan St., South Bend) -- 20% off meal, includes guest. Available for dine-in and carryout.

Chicory Cafe (105 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend; 114 W. First St., Mishawaka) -- Free meal.

Chili's (4810 Grape Road, Mishawaka; 4018 Elkhart Road, Goshen) -- Free meal from special menu for dine-in only.

Cracker Barrel (110 Northpointe Blvd., Elkhart) -- Free slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake for dine in.

Drive and Shine (multiple locations) -- One free Diamond car wash.

Dunkin' (multiple locations) -- Free classic doughnut.
*
Edible Arrangements (123 S. Michigan St., South Bend) -- A free smoothie, fruit salad or strawberry dipped cone from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Golden Corral (135 E Douglas Road, Mishawaka) -- Promotional cards for a free meal that can be redeemed now through May 31, 2021 for Monday through Thursday dine-in only. Limit one free meal per person.

Great Clips (multiple locations) -- Free haircut. Non-military customers can purchase a service on Wednesday and receive a free haircut card to give to a veteran that can be used on a later date.

Hacienda Mexican Restaurants (multiple locations) -- Free large wet burrito. Available for dine-in and carryout.

Home Depot (317 Indian Ridge Blvd., Mishawaka) -- 10% off purchase.

Lauber Kitchen & Bar (504 E. Lasalle Ave., South Bend) -- Free order of Veterans Day nachos for dine-in only.

Little Caesars Pizza (multiple locations) -- Free pizza or $5 lunch combo between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at select locations. Call ahead to verify participation

Logan's Roadhouse (4225 N. Main St., Mishawaka) -- Free entree from special menu between 3 and 6 p.m. 10% discount year-round.

Lowe's (multiple locations) -- 10% off purchase.

Martin's Super Markets (multiple locations) -- From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all area locations, veterans can receive a free meal that includes two pieces of fried chicken, two sides, a roll, medium fountain drink or coffee and cookie for dessert.

Metro Diner (423 E. University Drive, Granger) -- 50% off meal from limited menu for dine-in, pickup or delivery.

O'Rourke's Public House (1044 E. Angela Blvd., South Bend) -- 20% off meal for veteran and guest. Available for dine-in and carryout.

Papa Vino's Italian Kitchen (5110 Edison Lakes Parkway, Mishawaka) -- Free meal from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from a special menu.

Red Lobster (3930 Main St., Mishawaka; 3009 Brittany Court, Elkhart) -- Free appetizer or dessert from special menu.

Red Robin (4010 N. Main St., Mishawaka) -- Free Tavern Double burger with bottomless steak fries for dine-in or carryout from Nov. 12 through Nov. 30. Veterans must register for the Red Robin Royalty® Program by Thursday, Nov. 5 at www.redrobin.com/royalty to be eligible for the offer.

Rocky River Tap & Table (1032 E. University Drive, Granger) -- 20% off meal for veteran and guest. Available for dine-in and carryout.

Starbucks (multiple locations) -- Free 12-ounce hot coffee.

Taphouse on the Edge (1803 South Bend Ave., South Bend) -- Free meal.

Target (1400 E. Ireland Road, South Bend; 155 E. University Drive, Mishawaka) -- 10% off either in-store or online purchase now through Nov. 11. Eligible customers can visit Target.com/circle/military to register and verify as military to receive the discount.

Texas Roadhouse (3015 Brittany Court, Elkhart; 4635 S. Michigan St., South Bend) -- From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., free dinner voucher to be handed out in the parking lot. Vouchers can be used for dine-in through June 2021.

Wings Etc. (multiple locations) -- Free entree, up to $10 value. Available for dine-in and carryout.

7-Eleven (multiple locations) -- Free coffee or Big Gulp.
